It pushes you off the limit and at the same time gives you hands to climb above. You will start to identify how your <a href=\"https:\/\/soulmechanicstherapy.com\/zh\/intergenerational-trauma\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">past trauma<\/a> or experience is still lingering around you through unhealthy patterns. We often cover our real <a href=\"https:\/\/soulmechanicstherapy.com\/zh\/emotional-numbness\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">emotions <\/a>with <a href=\"https:\/\/soulmechanicstherapy.com\/zh\/anger-issues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">anger <\/a>or self-labelling (e.g., weak, failure, <em>foolish<\/em>, etc.) in the fear of vulnerability. When you start to heal, you start embracing your <a href=\"https:\/\/soulmechanicstherapy.com\/zh\/emotional-triggers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">emotions <\/a>as a part of you instead of pushing them away.<\/p><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI am not weak. I actually feel lonely and helpless.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI was angry because I was disappointed of being constantly let down.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI am not always strong as I appear to be, I am sad and breaking apart.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Facing_Pain\"><\/span><strong><em>Facing Pain<\/em><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6><p>You tend to gradually face your pain and haunting past when you\u2019re healing instead of avoiding or suppressing it with unhealthy coping styles (e.g., food, work, self-harming, addiction, sex, etc.). When you\u2019re healing you will slowly dive into your pain to work on it, instead of abandoning it. Your perception of yourself, your people, your job, and your environment gradually changes. You will attain more clarity and think more rationally about the world inside and outside of you.<\/p><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cHer anger towards me is a reflection of her pain.\u201d, instead of \u201cShe is angry on me, I must have done something.\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI am feeling quite distress around people. Maybe because I haven\u2019t recharge myself yet.\u201d, instead of \u201cWhy are people always noisy? Can\u2019t they keep quiet for sometime?\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI think this is a past trigger and I should explore more on it.\u201d, instead of \u201cWhy am I always getting moody when someone shouts. I am over dramatic.\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Self-Embracing\"><\/span><strong><em>Self-Embracing<\/em><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6><p>You\u2019re healing when the way you view and communicate with yourself becomes healthier. We are often our worst critics, frequently demotivate ourselves and engage in negative self-talk. When you\u2019re healing, you will start to embrace your flaws and shortcomings with love and care, to strive towards betterment instead of pushing yourself further down.<\/p><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cIt is okay to take break. I feel mentally exhausted.\u201d, instead of \u201cWhy am I so lazy and keep on finding excuses to take breaks?\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cIt is okay that I couldn\u2019t get the expected results. I tried my best and will do better in future.\u201d, instead of \u201cWhy am I such a failure. I can\u2019t even do one thing properly.\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI feel overwhelmed with my emotions and I am glad that I managed to express it\u201d, instead of \u201cWhy am I this sensitive? Why did I blurt more than needed?\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Grieving\"><\/span><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/soulmechanicstherapy.com\/zh\/grief-disefranchised-grief\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grieving<\/a><\/em><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6><p>When you\u2019re healing, you tend to <a href=\"https:\/\/soulmechanicstherapy.com\/zh\/grief\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">grieve <\/a>for yourself and the pain you went through. We often grieve for the pain people have inflicted upon us because our loved ones failed to understand us. We also tend to blame ourselves or invalidate our emotions while grieving. But, when you start healing, you tend to start acknowledging your pain without much self-criticism, embrace your emotions, and grieve for yourself.<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\"><p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><em>\u201cI am hurt because I felt helpless\u201d, instead of \u201cI am hurt because he did not understand\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><em>\u201cI don\u2019t deserve the humiliation that I went through\u201d, instead of \u201cWhy did they do that to me even after knowing my state?\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><em>\u201cFeeling overwhelmed with my emotions and pain.\u201d, instead of \u201cWhy are they not understanding me? Is it because I overreacted? You will start to view things, not only from your perspectives alone but from others as well. You will have more flexible and open thoughts rather than closed, concrete thoughts.<\/p><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI get anxious around authoritative people, is it because of my parents being strict?\u201d , instead of \u201cI am an anxious person.\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cI cope with alcohol now, but why not try to express through arts like how I did when I was younger?\u201d, instead of \u201cI can only cope with alcohol.\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cEach time when I use \u2018trust\u2019 word, he gets angry. When you\u2019re healing, you will gradually start to forgive or accept yourself and those who have inflicted pain within you, for your peace of mind. It defines me.\u201d, instead of \u201cI can\u2019t never live in peace knowing I have a lot of flaws.\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/div><\/div><h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Unstring_Self_Acknowledging_Illusions\"><\/span><strong><em>Unstring Self &amp; Acknowledging Illusions<\/em><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6><p>We all carry values, traits, and <a href=\"https:\/\/soulmechanicstherapy.com\/zh\/shadow-self-unveiling-ourselves\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">shadows<\/a> that the external world has instilled within us. Over time, we start believing and accepting that they are a part of us. When you\u2019re healing, you will start to dissociate yourself from the instilled traits and gradually uncover your hidden real values that have been buried due to the pressure and need for validation from the external world.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>I have been pushing myself to achieve all this while because I was pressured to score since childhood. My real value is enjoying the process, not only achieving.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>I have been comparing myself with others because I have constantly been compared with my siblings. The real me believes that everyone is unique.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>I put on a strong facade and refuse help because I fear vulnerability.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote><h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Not_Easily_Influenced_By_Others\"><\/span><strong><em>Not Easily Influenced By Others<\/em><\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h6><p>You\u2019re healing when other people\u2019s perspectives and opinions don\u2019t influence you as they used to. You will start to filter people\u2019s remarks on you instead of taking them to heart and engaging in negative self-talk. You will start questioning whether others\u2019 influence aligns with your values.&nbsp;<\/p><div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 51%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\"><p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><em>\u201cJust because they called me lazy, doesn\u2019t mean I am lazy. I am tired, they are not aware of what I am going through.\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><em>\u201cJust because they are overspending on games and it&#8217;s trendy now, I don\u2019t have to. I can save it for the book I wanted to buy.\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\"><em>\u201cThey\u2019re asking me to lie to my parents about<\/em> the trip. Although it\u2019s tempting, it\u2019s against my values<em>. I am going to be more honest.\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"317\" height=\"159\" src=\"https:\/\/soulmechanicstherapy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/images.png\" alt=\"Healing\" class=\"wp-image-5692 size-full\"\/><\/figure><\/div><p>In short, healing is never an easy process. You break, be vulnerable, collect broken pieces, break them into pieces again, fix back those pieces, you fail, you start again, you understand and you progress. The most significant step of healing requires us to break loose our walls and be vulnerable at least to ourselves. Facing our worst nightmare or having a cup of coffee with our anxiety will eventually help us to break free forever from the demons we&#8217;re always been hiding from. Face your pain to heal no matter how time-consuming it is. Healing is also shedding old skin and transforming it into new one. It means you go through painful shedding before getting a new version of yourself. But in the end, it&#8217;ll be worth the painful process.
